The Colorado River has some of the best public water in the state with miles of wade-able water and incredible hatches that include Salmon flies, Caddis, Blue Winged Olives, PMD's, Tricos, Midges, Golden Stones, March Browns and one stretch where we have been seeing a two week hatch of Grey Drakes.

Colorado River float fishing trips
The Upper Colorado River
This is a rather unique stretch of river because unlike most rivers in Colorado that have roads right beside them, this stretch wanders away from roads for the majority of its journey. Wildlife and incredible scenery surround you as you make your way through small valleys and rocky canyons.
State Bridge to Catamount
This stretch of river is nearly 15 miles long and has very little boat traffic. Therefore, you will see fish that are a little more willing to come up for the big dry flies. For this trip, plan on being gone for 15 hours including travel.
